News Transfer Rumours West Ham

Javier Hernandez could be on his way back to the Premier League as West Ham are reportedly interested in signing the former-Manchester United forward. The Mexican striker is the latest to be linked with the Hammers as they look to bolster their attacking prowess and according to The Mirror, Hernández has a release clause of only £13m, far off the reported £20m+ valuations of Anthony Modeste, Olivier Giroud and Kelechi Iheanacho.

In his two seasons at Leverkusen, Hernandez averaged just over a goal every two games. This consistency is exactly what the Hammers need to improve on a disappointing previous season in which injury problems to Andy Carroll and the departure of Dimitri Payet left the contribution to goals lacking in numbers.

Worried at the possibility of their top goal-scorer leaving on a free when his contract ends in 12 months time, it is suggested that Leverkusen will cash-in on the 29-year-old. West Ham look to be leading the race, Spurs and former club Manchester United have also been linked but there has been no concrete approach from either club.
