During his press conference, ahead of West Brom’s trip to Burnley, the Baggies’ manager Tony Pulis admitted that the club had rejected a £18 million offer by Manchester City for their captain, and centre-back, Jonny Evans.

However, words of encouragement were revealed within the conference, with the manager admitting that if a higher offer was submitted, they would consider selling the ex-Manchester United defender.

Whilst talking to journalists ahead of the game, the Englishman revealed: “It would be crazy to say West Brom won’t sell if a huge amount of money is put in front of you, It would need to be a good offer. We’re not desperate for money. Jonny’s one of our best and we’d love him to stay.”

Evans joined West Bromwich Albion in 2015 for an undisclosed fee from Manchester United, a club he had been at for over 10 years. Under Pulis, the English international has become a solid defensive option for his team, becoming one of the first names on the teamsheet each game.
