According to various reports, West Brom player Craig Dawson is close to agreeing on a new deal with the club following a consistent season at the club.
The defender currently has only one year remaining on his £25,000-a-week contract but is expected to be rewarded with a long-term deal with a wage hike following two consistent seasons under manager Tony Pulis. The new deal will be expected to warn off other clubs from pursuing the player in the summer transfer window.
Interestingly, Dawson has only missed one Premier League fixture for the club in the last two season. Talk of a new contract has been ongoing since the 2016/17 league campaign concluded, but it is expected that the 27-year-old will put pen to paper on a new deal after returning to the club for pre-season in July.
