News Transfer Rumours

Alexandre Lacazette, the highly sought-after french striker, has announced in an interview with L’Equipe that it is time for him to seek greener pastures.

The 25-year-old has notched 35 goals in all competitions this term and has reportedly caught the interest of many top clubs around Europe. Including that of Liverpool and Manchester United. But it would seem that Spanish giants Atletico Madrid could be his preferred move.

During his interview with L’Equipe on Friday he said:

“I think it’s a good time [to leave]. I want to put myself into danger and test myself at another level.”

Whilst on the subject of his next destination, the Frenchman had this to say about the move to Los Rojiblancos:

It is a great team, in a new stadium, and it is also a club that makes the players progress. And there is Antoine Griezmann.

The thought of the French pair linking up could be the world-class partner that Atletico have been looking for, in order to get them over the line, boasting some silverware over their inter-city rivals in Real Madrid, who have had the better time of late in head-to-head match ups.

Despite this, there is, of course, the chance that he may not go anywhere. With the player tied down with the club until at least 2019, and the club’s president that it will require a hefty fee for the player to leave.
