Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has revealed he’s actively listening to other clubs ahead of his contract expiring this summer.

The Spaniard, who was signed by Louis van Gaal in 2015, has reached a dead-end in negotiations with the Red Devils and now looks set to leave Old Trafford in the coming months.

Herrera has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain as of late and it’s believed that Spanish companion Juan Mata could also be on his way out of the club after wanting a two-year deal, with the United board only wanting to offer one.

Now, just days before Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s side take on Barcelona, Herrera has admitted he is listening to offers from other clubs after failing to agree a new deal with United.

Speaking to ABC, via SportWitness, Herrera said: “It’s true that I only have two months on my contract left, and today, Manchester (United) and I aren’t thinking the same.”

“There is no renewal agreement, but my duty is to keep listening to United. What I have clear is that I’m going to continue playing in a big team. I will listen to United, of course, but also to other clubs. I do not close doors.”

Despite possibly not being in Manchester next season, Herrera still called for Paul Pogba to remain at the club after rumours of a move to La Liga with Real Madrid continue, saying: “Pogba would be a great reinforcement for Madrid and for any team in the universe, but I hope he remains in United. He is a midfielder who has all the qualities.”

It remains to be seen if either of the midfield duo will indeed leave United this summer, however, Herrera’s departure could signal a change of policy at the club having previously given big deals to players not up to the standard, such as Marouane Fellaini. United currently sit sixth in the Premier League and take on Barcelona at Old Trafford on Wednesday, with the clash kicking-off at 20.00pm.
