Manchester City and Tinder have announced a multi-million-pound partnership ahead of this weekend’s clash with Manchester United. The deal will see the dating app change their social media colours to sky blue whilst a flying blimp has also been spotted flying over Manchester on Thursday.

The app, which connects those looking to meet new people, will also sponsor MLS’ New York City, owned by the City Football Group (CFG). Official confirmation of the partnership was announced on City’s official website, which included a statement from Tom Glick, CFG’s Chief Commercial Officer.

“Tinder is a huge global platform which, just like football, is bringing millions of people together every day all around the world,” Glick said. “Football is all about a community of fans, sharing moments, emotions and passion for the sport they love.”

Together with Tinder, we have a great opportunity to explore how we can combine Tinder’s significant appeal and reach with our global audience to create even more relationships in a new, fun and creative way. We believe this will be a perfect match for Tinder and for City.”
