Paris Saint-Germain are set to target Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah this summer, according to Le 10 Sport. Salah, who has been in sublime form for Liverpool this season, scoring 38 goals in 42 appearances, has also been the subject of interest from Real Madrid.

According to the French outlet, a big departure will be needed before any approach is made for the Egyptian and Edinson Cavani is the most likely to depart the Ligue 1 side.

The Uruguayan, now 31, has clashed with Neymar this season, most notably during a penalty dispute last year and if the club had to lose one, Cavani would likely be on his way out of France. It’s also suggested that Kylian Mbappé would take over from Cavani’s centre-forward duties with Neymar and Salah either side of him, making one of football’s deadliest trio’s.

A huge offer would be needed to prise Mohamed Salah away from Liverpool, with the English club reportedly already considering offering their wideman an improved contract just a year after arriving at Anfield. However, history suggests that the Fenway Sports Group would be willing to part with Liverpool’s best assets if the price is right, with Luis Suarez and Phillippe Coutinho being the most recent examples.
