In an interview with the Liverpool Echo, Jürgen Klopp admitted that it is no secret that Lazar Marković is available to other clubs this summer.

Marković joined Liverpool from Benfica for £20 million in 2014 and before arriving on Merseyside, he was earmarked as one of the most promising young players in Europe. Brendan Rodgers quick to snap up the winger from under the noses of Europe’s biggest clubs.

However, it has been all downhill for the Serbian since his move to Anfield. His first season was underwhelming and he has spent the last two seasons out on loan with Fenerbahçe, Sporting Lisbon and Hull City. Various injury problems and a lack of good performances have seen the 23-year-old drop out of Klopp’s plans and a transfer away from Merseyside is looking more likely as the new season approaches.

Speaking to the Echo, Klopp said: “With Lazar, it’s no secret that if he finds a club then we will negotiate. It was like this last year too. He’s a really good player. I like him as a person. He’s now fit and another one who is in the best shape since I’ve known him.”

“Before he had problems with his groin but now he’s good. There will be a club out there who needs him.”

Marković’s impressive loan spell may have caught the eye of some Premier League sides; with the winger set to have all sorts of suitors this transfer window. Watford manager Marco Silva has shown interest in signing the winger after Marković’s impressive performances under him at Hull.

Liverpool reportedly value Marković at £20 million, but are unlikely to find a buyer at that price and have since lowered their asking price to just £12 million. With the club’s summer addition in Mohamed Salah, first-team football for Marković will be extremely limited at Anfield if the Merseyside club fail to sell.

However, with Champions League football this season, provided Liverpool qualify through their playoff match, the schedule will increase further as the Serbian could provide Klopp with another option.
