Nabil Fekir has refused to rule out the possibility of moving to Anfield this summer after the Frenchman has been linked with Liverpool in recent weeks. The attacking midfielder was included in Didier Deschamps’ 23-man squad travelling to Russia next month after a superb season in which he scored 23 goals and provided 9 assists.

Liverpool will be hoping to complete a move for the 24-year-old before the tournament begins to prevent the fee rising is he manages to replicate his Lyon form for France.

When quizzed on interest from Liverpool, Fekir told RTL, via SportWitness: “Why not? Later there can be discussions with the president, with my entourage, to make a decision. In life, nothing can be forbidden.”

If the move was to occur, Jürgen Klopp, who’s attacking options are already frightening, could have the opportunity to line up with Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Nabil Fekir next season. The purchase of the Lyon-born attacker would also fill the void left by Philippe Coutinho, though Liverpool’s form suggests there isn’t one.

Fekir had refused to give anything away earlier this week when talking to RMC Sport, telling the French outlet:

“I don’t know, frankly. I had a great season here, with the staff, the crowd and exceptional players. I gave everything for Lyon, we’ll see for the future.”
