Real Madrid delivered a solid display to see off Barcelona and win the Spanish Super Cup, the 10th time in the club’s history. Los Blancos beat the Blaugrana 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu, lifting the trophy after winning 5-1 on aggregate over two legs.

Marco Asensio and Karim Benzema sealed the win for the European champions at the Bernabéu. Marco Asensio struck just four minutes in with a long-range curler that shook Barcelona. Karim Benzema then doubled the lead in the second half spinning Samuel Umtiti before firing past Ter Stegen.

Barcelona players looked defeated even after the match and several players were visibly frustrated. Gerard Piqué came out and voiced his concerns after the 2-0 loss.

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos continued his quest to wind up Barcelona players in every Clasico he is a part of. This time the Madrid captain chose to toy with Lionel Messi during the match. Midway through the second half with Real cruising, Ramos decided to provoke the Argentine superstar.

After a Barca player was fouled, Messi asked Ramos to return the ball but the Spaniard extended his arm out, as if he was about to return the ball, and threw it over the Argentine’s head.

Messi was visibly upset at Ramos’ actions as he looked at the Spaniard and uttered the words ‘La concha de tu madre‘ in his direction.
The words Messi uttered translate to ‘Your mother’s c***‘ in English. In the local dialect, however, it sometimes means ‘motherf****r’. Which ever way the Argentine used it, he wasn’t saying nice things to Ramos.

Messi and his Barçelona team put in an underwhelming performance on Wednesday night and will hope to make amends during Sunday’s La Liga opener against Valencia.
