Pape Souare has serious doubts over whether he’ll be able to play football again after suffering multiple injuries in an RTC back in September.

It was estimated that the defender would be out for 6 months however the Senegalese international has admitted he is insure whether he’ll be able to make a full recovery after sustaining a broken leg and a broken jaw following the accident.

Souare said: “I don’t know about my injury. I don’t know if I can get back or not – I will put everything in the hands of God and we will see.”

Souare followed up by saying: “I got my leg broke, and my jaw. I couldn’t eat for the first month, but now I can eat, I can try and eat a little bit.”

The full-back made three appearances in the league and one in the league cup before sustaining his injuries and since then has had overwhelming support from the supporters of Crystal Palace. He said: “I receive all the support from the fans – everything. They help me a lot and they make me believe in myself.”

Souare recalls the match between Crystal Palace and West Ham back in October where Palace fans displayed a banner reading: “Keep Strong Pape”. “I was watching that game” he said, “so when they (the fans) stop singing to support the team to support me, I was very happy for that.”

Crystal Palace find themselves in 17th place, only above the relegation zone on goal difference. The Eagles have only taken 9 points from a possible 30 in their last 10 games which included a 5-4 defeat away in Wales to Swansea.

All of us at From The Stands wish Pape Souare a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in Crystal Palace colours as soon as possible.
