Everton have agreed a fee with Black Cats keeper, Jordan Pickford, according to Sky Sports. The 23-year-oldshot-stopperr is all set to become Everton’s first summer signing after a fee rising upto £30 million was agreed by both parties.
Ronald Koeman, who has been in the market for a solid first team goalkeeper has won the race for Pickford who is currently in Poland for the U21 European Championships. Both Stekelenburg and Joel Robles weren’t convincing enough for the Toffees last season, with the former in particular managing just 4 clean sheets in 19 appearances last season.
Pickford, who enjoyed a fantastic breakthrough season, has managed the most number of saves in the league (110), more than Joel and Stekelenburg combined. At times, Pickford was the only saving grace for a miserable Sunderland side who were finally relegated under David Moyes. Pickford was eyed by a number of clubs, including Arsenal, but it seems that he will become an Everton player come next season.
