Crystal Palace Manchester United News Transfer Rumours

According to Sky Sports, Manchester United’s academy player Timothy Fosu-Mensah is currently having a medical ahead of a season-long loan at Crystal Palace. The 19-year-old is well-known by fellow Dutchman Frank de Boer, and is expected to gain vital first team football with the manager.

The player is consistently praised for his versatility, being able to play exceptionally well as a right-back, centre-back, or even a defensive-midfielder. The youngster is expected to gain a lot from the loan, and fight for a spot in United’s first-team when he returns in a year’s time.

In the past, the prospect had brief stints in the first-team under former manager Louis van Gaal and also current manager José Mourinho. Fosu-Mensah is a player who quite clearly wants to represent his team in future, having once said that: “If the manager wants me to play centre-back I will play there. If he wants me to play defensive midfield I will play there. If he needs me to play right back I will play there. I like them all and can play them all so it is not a problem.”

The English giants have already strengthened in both their defensive and midfield departments following the signings of Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic, and are also interested in bringing PSG’s Serge Aurier to Old Trafford.

Crystal Palace’s new manager has already begun strengthening his defence in the transfer window following the permanent signing of Jairo Riedewald from Ajax.
