AS Monaco played their 2nd Ligue 1 fixture of the season vs Dijon at the Stade Gaston Gérard. 18-year-old striker Kylian Mbappé started the game on the bench after Leonardo Jardim said that the youngster was not in the right state of mind after the all the recent transfer speculation surrounding his future.

Monaco won 4-1, a goal from Jemerson and a Falcao hat-trick was enough to seal all three points as Monaco seek to retain their title. The Frenchman’s strike partner, veteran Radamel Falcao started up top alongside new signing Adama Diakhaby, who was picked ahead of Mbappé. The Colombian put the Dijon defence to the sword and finished the match with three goals.

Falcao gave Monaco the lead three minutes into the game from a Kamil Glik flick on from a corner. Brazilian defender Jemerson scored an acrobatic effort to make it 2-0. Falcao added the third after nice work from Diakhaby and the Colombian completed his hat-trick with a tidy finish inside the box.

Falcao’s second goal was an audacious lob from outside the penalty area past the hopeless Dijon keeper. The 31-year-old has rediscovered his past form since returning to Stade Louis II.

Monaco face FC Metz at the Stade Saint-Symphorien on 18 August. The video of Falcao’s worldie can be found below:
