Arsenal News Paris Saint-Germain Transfer Rumours

PSG have stepped up their interest to sign Arsenal’s wantaway forward, Alexis Sánchez and are now favourites to sign him according to various sources. The Chilean forward has only a year left on his contract and has voiced his desire to play in the Champions League. Sánchez scored 24 goals in the Premier League last season and was the third highest goal scorer in England’s top division.

Sánchez, who has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City and Bayern Munich, has had 3 fruitful seasons in the Premier League, having joined from Barcelona in the summer of 2014. Pep is said to be a huge admirer of Sánchez and originally signed him for Barcelona.

It is reported that Alexis’ agent has been in continuous contact with PSG and is open to a move if the move to Manchester City doesn’t materialise. PSG are one of the very few clubs that are willing to match his wage demand as they look to strengthen their team after losing out on the Ligue 1 title last season to Monaco.

While Alexis expects that Arsene will be generous enough to let him leave for City, Arsène Wenger has remained adamant that Sánchez is indeed not for sale. The Frenchman has stated that Arsenal will run down his contract if he doesn’t wish to renew. Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Wenger said:“The decision has been made and we will stick to that. The decision is not to sell.”

Various sources have reported that Bayern have pulled out of the deal because of their unwillingness to break their wage structure. This makes PSG and Manchester City the only favourable suitors. With Arsenal reluctant to sell their star player to a direct rival, PSG is the most likely destination, in the current scheme of things.
