Arsenal News Transfer Rumours

Champions League runners-up Juventus are reported to have agreed a deal with Arsenal for the transfer of goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczęsny, for a fee believed to be around £14 million.

The former academy graduate has been at the club for over ten years, joining from Legia Warsaw in 2006, and has seen his opportunities in the first team increase since the 2011/12 Premier League season. In total, he has made 181 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions.

Additionally, the Polish goalkeeper has been in fine form across his two-year loan tenure at AS Roma, and has attracted the attention of Juventus to succeed legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon. The former Arsenal No.1 was sent out on loan to maintain first-team football following the arrivals of David Ospina in 2014, and Petr Cech in 2015.

Szczęsny’s current deal at the club expires in a year’s time, and could be sold quickly in order to free up funds for the London club. However, other sources claim that the keeper wants to stay in North London, and will speak with current manager Arsène Wenger before making a decision about his future.
