Arsenal News Transfer Rumours

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger, and Arsenal chief-executive Ivan Gazidis, were pictured from France yesterday as reports heated up that the Gunners are interested in signing a top talent from the country.

The duo were spotted walking in the south of France along the French Riviera when the picture was taken. Cote d’Azur Airport in Nice is the nearest location to Monaco, leaving many to speculate about who the club could be looking to sign in the summer.

In recent weeks, the club have been reported to be interested in signing the likes of OGC Nice’s Jean Seri, and also AS Monaco duo Thomas Lemar, and Kylian Mbappé. Interestingly, many claims have been made that a club record £95 million (incl. add ons) bid was made for the latter, but was subsequently rejected by the club, who also rejected a larger offer from Real Madrid.

The picture of Wenger and Gazidis fuels speculation of who they could be looking to sign in France, with many guessing that it is all about Mbappe. Last summer, Arsenal came very close to signing the youngster for under £1 million, and will hope that their dedication towards the player will help convince him to join the club.

The 18-year-old is deservedly the hottest prospect in world football right now, scoring 26 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions for Monaco last season, helping them fend off Paris Saint-Germain to the Ligue 1 title as well as reach the Champions League semi-finals.
