Arsenal have agreed a deal in principle for Thomas Lemar after being rejected by him on the deadline day, according to reports. It is reported that Arsenal have a fee of £92m agreed with Monaco for the services of the 21-year-old starlet and the Gunners’ are reportedly offering £250,000-a-week for the French wideman.

While it was widely speculated, in the summer, that Lemar would be Alexis Sánchez’s replacement, it is now believed that the Lemar deal doesn’t depend on the departure of Sánchez in the next transfer window. While it is reported that Lemar rejected a move, there seem to be arising genuine concerns on completion of deal in the final hours while it is also speculated that Lemar didn’t have enough time to contemplate on this offer to make a decision.

Arsenal had passed up an opportunity to sign Lemar in the earlier parts of the window but pulled out of the deal because of his value concerns. Now, with a bad start to the season which included a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool, it is believed the Arsène Wenger is ready to splash the cash.

Lemar enjoyed a prolific campaign last season helping Monaco win the Ligue 1 title as well as reaching the Champions League semi-final.

In other news, it seems to be appearing that Arsenal have joined the race for out-of-favour Bayern man Thomas Müller who has seen limited game time under Carlo Ancelotti and looks set to leave amidst interest from a lot of top clubs including Chelsea, Liverpool and Juventus, according to Bild.

Arsenal view Thomas Müller as an ideal replacement for Sánchez, who is set to leave almost imminently. Müller has also not been utilised in his favoured role under Ancelotti which he is discontent with. So, we could see a bidding war for a Bavarian favourite come January and Arsenal are likely to take interest as well.
