West Ham have opened talks with Manchester City legend Yaya Touré and the Ivorian is open to a move to the London Stadium, according to the Daily Mail.

The 35-year-old is currently a free agent and is keen to reunite with Manuel Pellegrini, who he worked with at the Etihad during the Chilean’s three-year spell in Manchester.

Touré had hit headlines earlier this week after claiming Pep Guardiola was discriminative against Africans whilst his agent, Dimitri Seluk, offered the Premier League’s top-six his client’s services for £1-a-week.

Seluk had told Sport 24: “At a time when huge sums are being spent in England for the purchase of football players, I officially declare that Yaya is ready to move as a free agent to any English club of the top six with a salary of one-pound-a-week, but with a bonus system based on certain successes.”

However, with Premier League’s elite unlikely to spend time signing a 35-year-old midfielder, a move to London seems to be on the cards for Touré, provided he takes a significant pay-cut with his contract at City edging towards £220,000-a-week.

Touré’s only Premier League appearance this season came in Manchester City’s final fixture at the Etihad against Brighton and concerns about his fitness have been raised by fans. Though, the chance of proving he still has what it takes to Pep Guardiola could be a big enough incentive to reignite his career in England.
