News West Ham

West Ham have confirmed the signing of Joe Hart on loan from Manchester City with the Irons paying a fee of £4.5m to take the English International out on loan, and have the option of spending another £10m next summer to make the deal permanent. West Ham will only have to pay 50% of Hart’s wages over the course of his one year loan, with Manchester City paying the other 50%.

Hart will a good addition for the Hammers and bring goalkeeping talent to the club that West Ham haven’t seen in years. He is a very big step up from the likes of Adrián, and Randolph respectively. The English shot-stopper brings a strong personality to a changing room that is in desperate need of more leadership and stronger personalities. He will quickly turn himself into one of the leaders of the squad both on and off the pitch.

However, Hart will bring something to West Ham that Hammers fans have become way too familiar with in recent years, mistakes. As are Adrián and Randolph, Hart is prone to making mistakes that lead to goals. In fact, he made the second most errors leading to goals in Europe during the 2016/17 campaign with five. However, Hart was playing abroad in a league he had never played in before, with a new language, a new style of football, and many other factors. Many believe that he will be able to return to a solid level of play, back in the Premier League, where he feels more comfortable.

The signing could mean we see the departure of Adrián or Darren Randolph from the club. Newly promoted Newcastle United are linked with Randolph, as are recently relegated Middlesbrough. As for Adrián, Crystal Palace are interested in making a move for the Spanish ‘keeper.

  1. Thanks Jack. I look forward to your posts. I think Hart is going to make an impression … a good one
