West Ham have confirmed that they have agreed to terms with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Javier Hernández. The fee agreed between the two clubs is believed to be up to £20m, after interest from other clubs seemed to bump his price. Chicharito has reportedly turned down a £200k-a-week contract from the MLS to join West Ham and the Irons are expected to make the Mexican their highest paid player, on £140k-a-week.

It is being reported that the former Manchester United forward will be flying to London on Monday for his medical before officially completing the move to the Premier League.

The signing ends a long and gruelling search for West Ham to find a truly prolific goal scorer. Hernández could finally bring the Hammers the clinical finishing that the club have missed for so long with ‘little pea’ being promised plenty of first team football by Slaven Bilic.

Hernández could be a summer defining signing for West Ham, but they’re not done yet. David Sullivan is also expecting Marko Arnautović to have a medical within the coming days, as he looks to complete a club record move to the East London club.
