West Ham star Dimitri Payet has flirted with his former club Marseille over a possible return to the French side. Payet, who has scored 2 goals in the Premier League this season, has described Marseille as an ‘interesting project’.
The Frenchman’s future has been full of speculation after West Ham’s poor start to the season, that saw the drop close to the relegation zone. Clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG have been linked with the midfielder, but Payet seems to be interested in a return to France with Marseille, or so his comments suggest.
Speaking to SFR SPORT, he revealed:
“I am not closing the door to anything. Marseille have a new project which seems interesting.”
“Aside from that, we are obviously waiting to see the first few things that the new owners do, but Marseille knows how attached I am to the club.
“When I talk about it, I say the best possible things, because that is what I think, so why not.”
