Ben Davies Set To Retire After Facing Sadio Mane

Tottenham and Wales defender Ben Davies has announced his retirement after a torrid performance against Liverpool this evening. Liverpool started and finished brightly as they dismantled Tottenham’s solid defence by two goals to nil, putting rivals Manchester United back into 6th.
The 23-year-old faced Liverpool’s Sadio Mane, but didn’t spend much time facing the Senegalese man as he spent the whole 90 minutes running after the winger. The announcement of Davies’ retirement came as no surprise, it was reported that the Neath-born man was heard crying at half-time as Mauricio Pochettino cuddled him, along with Erik Lamela, who is said to still be recovering from the passing of his dog.
“He was crying his eyes out into the manager’s coat, sobbing. Nobody knew what to do, or say. The gaffer didn’t actually get to speak to the lads at half-time.” – a club source revealed
Davies, who started due to Danny Rose being unavailable, also was said to have suffered two twisted ankles following his display against Mane. It’s unsure whether the defender will make a U-turn on his decision for an early retirement, although it’s unlikely many will beg him to do so. But for no, the Welshmen has decided to hang his boots up.
note: This article is entirely fiction and Ben Davies hasn’t actually retired, even if you wish he had. Don’t tell your friends From The Stands revealed he was crying in the dressing room either, otherwise, you’ll look rather silly.
