News Sunderland Transfer Rumours West Brom West Ham

Wantaway Senegalese striker Diafra Sakho is believed to have handed in a transfer request earlier last week. The unsettled forward has made it clear he does not want to stay in East London any longer, refusing to travel with the first team to Austria for part 2 of their pre-season plans.

David Gold confirmed on Twitter today that no striker will be leaving just yet when he quoted a tweet saying; “We won’t sell any striker until we have secured a replacement. dg”.

Diafra has been linked to several clubs recently, and although it seemed at first he would return to France this summer, West Ham have turned down a £12m offer from Sunderland. Also showing an interest in Sakho’s services are West Brom, Crystal Palace, Swansea City, and Championship club Newcastle United.

It’s not breaking news that West Ham are yet to secure the “20-goals a season striker” they have been so desperately after since the end of last season. Despite being in the top 4 in terms of the scoring goals in the Premier League last season, none of their strikers really made enough impact, other than a handful of times, to create headlines each weekend. With the likes of Andy Carroll seemingly to always be carrying an injury of some kind, although our best striking option when fully fit the club need to secure a top notch striker if they wish to progress with the plans for the near future. It’s been widely reported the several top name strikers have turned down the chance to play in Claret and Blue at the Olympic Stadium, but in reality only, Michy Batshuayi has opted for a move away from his club for another. Alexandre Lacazette was another big name widely reported to be on West Ham’s radar, which is indeed true, although no official bid was placed for the French international.

With a major link with AC Milan’s Columbian striker Carlos Bacca, it seems he is the main priority now with a bid reportedly accepted by the Italian club , just personal terms to be agreed and settled.
