La Liga Serie A Transfer Rumours

According to Gazzamercato, Italian outfit Lazio are close to agreeing terms with Spanish club Espanyol for the transfer of striker Felipe Caicedo in the region of €3 million (£2.7m).

The Ecuadorian forward joined the La Liga side in 2014 following the expiration of his contract at United Arab Emirates side Al-Jazira. In his three years at the club, the 28-year-old has scored just over 20 goals. Caicedo has also played regularly for his country, Ecuador, scoring 22 goals in 66 appearances.

Despite his current contract expiring in June 2019, I Biancocelesti are confident of agreeing a deal with the club to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new Serie A season. Caicedo is reportedly ready to depart the club, having skipped pre-season training sessions in recent days.

Should a deal reach completion, the Italian side will inherit a forward with a significant amount of experience, having previously played for the likes of Manchester City, Sporting CP, and also Lokomotiv Moscow.
