Bayern Munich Juventus Transfer Rumours

Juventus are on the verge of signing Bayern Munich’s Douglas Costa on a €6m loan deal with a €40m obligation to buy, according to Sky Italia.

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed yesterday that talks with Juventus were taking place but was adamant that no deal has been agreed yet, saying: “The player has communicated to us he would like to leave. I can confirm we’re in concrete talks with Juventus. I’d call the talks positive and very serious, but I can’t say it’s in effect.”

However, it seems the deal has now reached completion, with the Brazilian exiting the club on the same day as Real Madrid’s James Rodríguez arriving in Munich in a similar loan deal.

Costa burst on the scene with Ukranian club Shakhtar Donetsk before moving to Germany in 2015. He managed 6 goals and 12 assists in over 40 appearances in his first season at the Allianz Arena which was followed by a second season being second choice to Franck Ribéry, only managing four goals and three assists this time around. Costa has been linked with Juventus and Tottenham this summer and the winger will hope to rediscover his form after a disappointing 2016/17 campaign.

After Juventus’ failure to win the Champions League after two finals in three years; the club are attempting assembling a squad that can win the prestigious prize. Douglas Costa and Sampdoria forward Patrick Schick have joined the Bianconeri so far this summer as the Serie A champions aim to bolster their attack. Allegri will no doubt venture into the transfer market deeper in an attempt to boost Juventus’ chances of winning the Champions League next season.
