Inter Manchester United News Transfer Rumours

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Inter’s game against Bayern Munich on Thursday, Luciano Spalletti revealed that he would be open to selling Ivan Perišić if an offer for the winger was ‘difficult to reject’.

The Croatian winger has been linked with a £48million move to Manchester United this summer and the difference in valuation between the two clubs have stalled the deal.

However, Spalletti has admitted that winger Perišić could leave for the right price, perhaps giving his most open comments about selling the winger yet. Manchester United boss José Mourinho recently confirmed that he has two more transfer targets, describing them as; “A midfield player and an attacking player through the wings.” Reports suggest that United have made contact with Inter Milan, but a deal has not been agreed.

The Inter Milan coach stated that the club are intent on keeping the Croatian winger but would reluctantly sell the former Wolfsburg player to free up funds to strengthen his squad for next season.

“Sure, there were rumours, but the status quo is that we want to keep Perišić,” he said. “Having said that, if someone comes in with a very difficult offer to reject, then we’ll consider that. But, of course, we’ll need to find a valid alternative for Perišić as well.”

Perišić is currently with Inter’s 28-man squad for their pre-season tour of China and Singapore. The 28-year-old was involved in their International Champions Cup win over Lyon on Monday. Manchester United will have to meet Inter’s reported asking price of about £48 million if they wish to sign the Croatian.
