Sky Sports in the last hour have confirmed that Manchester United striker Will Keane and Cardiff City ‘keeper David Marshall are at the KCOM Stadium having medicals.
Hull City have been strongly linked to strikers throughout the window so it is no surprise that Will Keane seems as if he will be wearing amber and black this season. The Manchester United striker’s move looks to be permanent with a fee of around £1m being suggested. This will be the English striker’s first move away from Old Trafford permanently after loan spells with Wigan, Preston North End, Sheffield Wednesday and Queens Park Rangers. Keane has never scored in a Manchester United shirt and has only scored 4 career goals during loan spells in Sheffield Wednesday and Preston North End. At 23 years of age the English striker still has a lot of time to grow as a footballer and will get a lot of game time at Hull City. No doubt that Mike Phelan knows the player well from being an assistant manager to Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford while Will Keane was there.
Hull City also look to be bringing in another Goalkeeper. After the injury of first choice ‘keeper Allan McGregor in May, Hull have had to play Edlin Jakupovic who is inexperienced in the Premier League. Scotland international David Marshall is set to be confirmed as a Hull City player tomorrow after a few was agreed of £3.5m with Cardiff City. Marshall has played one season in the Premier League and he impressed despite being part of a side who finished rock bottom. David Marshall has received a lot of praise for his time at Cardiff City and it was only a matter of time a Premier League club snatched up a player of his quality. This signing perhaps spells the end for Dusan Kuciak or even Allan McGregor has the club now has 4 goalkeepers, excluding this in the under 21 squad.
Both players are predicted to be announced as Hull City players tomorrow.
