Real Madrid have confirmed that Enzo Zidane has signed for Deportivo Alavés for an undisclosed fee with the Frenchman signing a three-year deal. Whilst neither club have disclosed any details of the transfer, it is widely believed that a buy-back option has been inserted in the deal, allowing the Spanish giants to have control over the midfielder’s future.

The 22-year-old was handed his first-team debut by his father, Zinedine Zidane, in November during a 6-1 Copa del Rey victory over Cultural Leonesa, scoring a goal before being replaced by Isco at half-time.

However, his brief performances for the first team alongside his efforts for Real Madrid’s second team were not enough to convince his father and manager to keep him. During his time with the second team, Zidane secured five goals and provided five assists in 32 appearances in the Spanish Second Division B.

After transferring over to his new club, the playmaker will finally be given the opportunity to play consistent first team football.
