After England’s triumphant 2-0 victory over Malta on Saturday with Daniel Sturridge and Dele Alli getting on the score sheet; Gareth Southgate and the players have their eyes firmly set on The Three Lions next opposition in Slovenia who they face on Tuesday, with Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak warning his teammates that Wayne Rooney still remains England’s dangerman despite the heaps of criticism surrounding him recently.
Rooney’s poor form has developed bundles of controversy surrounding him and many think he’s not worthy of a starting role for club and country. However, Slovenia’s number one has told his players you can’t allow him any space if they have any chance of getting a result out of the game.
“Rooney is a worldwide star and he is very important for England’s game. He is the key player we must stop.” and then added, “I don’t fear any of the England players, but they have some quality in attack. That’s there best area right now.””We need to put them under pressure and make it a total battle from the first moment. We need to make them uncomfortable on the pitch, so I don’t expect a beautiful game. They are always a tricky team to play against.”
Slovenia, who are currently third in Group F after a 2-2 draw with Lithuania and an impressive 1-0 against Slovakia, look to maintain their encouraging form into the clash against England on the 11th October.
