Newcastle News Transfer Rumours

According to Telegraph journalist John Percy, newly-promoted Premier League side Newcastle United have had a £12.5m fee agreed for Norwich City winger Jacob Murphy.

The reported news should bring delight to fans of the club, who have been reportedly keen on signing the Englishman this summer. Taking other reports into account, the Magpies previously had initial £8 million and £10 million bids rejected by the Championship side.

Last season, the 22-year-old broke into the Canaries first team, going on to score eight goals as well as provide a further eight assists in 40 appearances. His top performances for the club saw the winger earn a call-up for England, as the Three Lions travelled to Poland to compete in the Under-21 European Championships.

Should the deal reach completion, it will make Murphy the third signing for Newcastle this summer, joining Christian Atsu from Chelsea as well as Florian Lejeune from Eibar.
