Former Manchester United youth player Eamon Dunphy has hit out at Paul Pogba, labelling the Frenchman as ‘useless’ after his performance against Liverpool.

Despite Pogba’s recent performances, which have been a key factor in Manchester United’s 16-game unbeaten streak, Eamon Dunphy has revealed ‘£20m would be expensive for Pogba’ after the 23-year-old’s disappointing performance against Liverpool on Sunday.

“Pogba was never worth £100 million,” the 71-year-old told RTE. “At £20m he would have been expensive. With the money they’ve spent with Mourinho and van Gaal, they should really have a better team.”

“Paul Pogba is very immature. He plays like a kid. He is not worth the money they paid for him and he won’t be worth the money they paid for him. He is the elephant in the room. He’s useless.”

Pogba, who has recently received his own emoji on Twitter, has put together a string of performances for Manchester United recently and given United’s run of form with Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic being at the heart of it, is Dunphy’s criticism too harsh?
