According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are planning to enter an anti-Manchester United clause in Ivan Perišić’s new contract following a summer of speculation between the Croatian and a move to Old Trafford. United

United were interested in signing the winger but the deal was prevented from the club holding back on meeting Inter’s demands. In addition, Anthony Martial’s early season form suggested forking out close to €50m for a 28-year-old may hamper the Frenchman’s bright start to the Premier League season.

Rumours of José Mourinho’s interest being rekindled in January are highly unlikely given Inter’s attempts to stay clear of selling Perišić to England. The Italian club will reportedly up their star man’s wages and also prevent a move to Manchester by entering a clause which prevents the move from happening.

United, who haven’t been shy of splashing the cash in recent years, opted not to meet Inter’s valuation and have started their Premier League campaign with a 100% win rate and are yet to concede a goal in the opening three fixtures. Perhaps Mourinho’s affection towards Perišić was down to his crossing ability, however, after three games, the Red Devils have bagged ten goals with three coming from Lukaku himself.
