Zlatan Ibrahimovic Admits His Need To ‘Re-Energise’ After Busy Festive Period

Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has claimed that his first taste of the Premier League’s hectic Christmas period has left him needing to “re-energise”.
In an interview with The Mirror, the Swedish international discussed the busy schedule, as well as United’s good form.
“The Christmas schedule, it’s a little crazy, but that’s the way it is.”
“We just have to adjust in the best possible way. It’s the first time for me. I’ll have to re-energise myself in the best possible way. But, there are a lot of games.
“We’re in a good moment right now. We’ve got five or six wins in a row and games when we’ve done what we’re supposed to do. It’s just, the other teams up there, they don’t make mistakes, they don’t drop points.
“I think we saw some tired legs at West Ham. Two days, two games, it’s not easy to play then. But we won. We got the three points we wanted, we’re satisfied with that.”
United face Championship side Reading at Old Trafford on Saturday, in an FA Cup fixture which may see Ibrahimovic dropped to the bench as United will expect to be able to win the fixture without the veteran striker.
Cult hero Zlatan has played seven full games in the league since the beginning of December, scoring six and assisting three in that time.
United will want Zlatan fresh and ready for some rapid-fire league games against Hull, Liverpool, and Stoke, meaning Mourinho is likely to rest him against Reading.
Although Zlatan’s first experience of the Christmas schedule has been a strenuous one, United fans will be hoping that it won’t be his last Christmas as a United player.
