Manchester United have failed with their first bid to sign Argentinian starlet Paulo Dybala with a bid involving £70 million and out-of-favour attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

United have been quoted a price of £86 million and Juventus aren’t interested in Mkhitaryan, according to reports from the Daily Express.

The report suggests United are increasingly looking at targets to take off pressure from their summer acquisition, Romelu Lukaku and José Mourinho has identified Dybala as their top target.

It is said that Dybala is likely to leave the Turin based club after having a fallout with manager Massimiliano Allegri. The 24-year-old has scored 15 goals in 25 appearances this season and has been long believed as one of the best young talents in the game.

In an interview in November, Dybala had admitted that he was ‘missing his friend’ Paul Pogba, who was signed by Manchester United from Juventus for a then transfer record fee.“I must admit I miss Dani Alves and Pogba,” he revealed.

“Alves has an amazing vision and is really self-confident, he is one of the best players I’ve ever seen. Pogba is a friend of mine, we were on very good terms on and off the pitch.”

“I can’t promise I will stay at Juventus forever. It does not depend on me but I don’t even want to say that this will be my last season here. I want to win everything now, football is strange you never really know what will happen in the future.”
