Rumours: Manchester United Interested In West Ham Starlet Reece Oxford

According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, Jose Mourinho wants to lure the England U19 international to Old Trafford, so much so that he has sent scouts to watch Oxford play in tonight’s Euro U19 game between England and France.
Oxford, who emerged to the scene after a man of the match performance aginst Arsenal at the beginning of last season, is still only 17, playing between central defence or central midfield, Oxford would be the perfect project if Jose Mourinho wished to undertake one.
However, it won’t be easy. With things on the up for West Ham United, the Irons wish to keep Oxford at the club, but, with two years left on his contract, a bid in the region of £10m could tempt the club and the player into a deal. Mourinho is said to have identified Oxford as a ‘key player for the future’.
Jose Mourinho has shown clear intentions he wishes to abolish the idea that he ‘doesn’t play youth’ and with the addition of Reece Oxford, he could find it hard not to. The 17-year-old would join the likes of Marcus Rashford (18), Anthony Martial (20), Timothy Fosu-Mensah (18), Luke Shaw (21) and Adnan Januzaj (21) and Memphis Depay (22), giving Jose Mourinho and Manchester United a very young squad, with plenty of room for development.
