Henrikh Mkhitaryan- What will the Armenian bring to United?

After weeks of speculation and transfer rumours, Manchester United have finally announced the signing of Armenia attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan , but what will the former Borussia Dortmund player bring to Old Trafford?
A first thing that is believed by many as one of the main things lacking at Old Trafford is pace in their attacking line. Since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, United have failed to score anywhere near as many counter attacking goals, this could be put down to the style of play of both David Moyes and Louis van Gaal, however could also be because of the calibre of players bought, for example Juan Mata, who have also lacked pace in their individual style of play. Bringing in Mkhitaryan will help to contribute to United fans, and most likely Jose Mourinho’s, demands of fast attacking football to return to the Theatre of Dreams.
The Armenian will also bring versatility to United’s squad, with his ability to play in numerous positions in the attacking line, as he showed on mulitplie occasions at both Dortmund, and in earlier stages of his career at Shaktar Donetsk. The ability to play on both flanks, and also in the number 10 role down the centre can surely only be a positive for both his possibility of getting play time, and Jose Mourinho’s options when selecting a team.
Mourinho’s newest signing also has the priveledge that not many people have when moving to Manchester United in recent years, in that his believed transfer fee of £26,300,000 isn’t as pricy as the likes of Juan Mata, Angel Di Maria and Anthony Martial have had on their shoulders in recent years. As a result of a lesser, but yet still expensive, transfer fee, Mkhitaryan could thrive under having less pressure on himself to perform due to possible less expectation from the fans compared to these other bigger money arrivals.
Perosnally, I believe that Henrikh Mkhitaryan is an ideal fit for Manchester United and the type of attacking player that is needed at the club at the moment, his mix of pace and raw ablility on the ball could help him to play a key role in the start of this new era for United under Jose Mourinho. However, I also think that this signing should be one that the fans of United don’t get too carried away with, despite the Aremenian managing 11 goals and 15 assists in the Bundesliga last season, as it is his first real season he has performed for the German giants.
A possibility of a 1 season wonder? Or a chance for him to now kick on and continue to improve in the Premier League? Only time will tell.
