Anthony Martial Admits Sitting On The Bench Is ‘Really, Really Annoying’

Anthony Martial has admitted his fustration at sitting on the bench for Manchester United after a lacklustre start to the season.
The Frenchman, who scored 17 goals last season, has struggled to really get going this season under José Mourinho, but the 21-year-old admits it’s a ‘challenge you have to overcome’.
Speculation arose around Martial’s future as he failed to make the squad for multiple games this season, but whilst missing out on a France call-up, Mourinho praised Martial’s mentality and work-rate over the international-break.
Speaking on his lack of chances under Mourinho, Martial said:
“It’s annoying, it’s really annoying (being benched), but it’s a challenge you have to overcome and that’s how you progress.”
“It’s hard. All you want to do is try and help your team, and when you’re on the bench, you can’t.”
“I know people expect a lot from me. Maybe they also forget I’m still young at times.”
“They can say what they want, to be honest, it won’t change anything.” he added.
