Pep Guardiola Reveals His Love For John Stones’ Big Balls

Pep Guardiola was in an ecstatic mood following his side’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool last night. The Spaniard admitted it was ‘one of the happiest days’ of his managerial career as Sergio Agüero’s late goal cancelled out James Milner’s opener.
The tie comes in the week Manchester City were knocked out in the Champions League by AS Monaco by the away goal rule in a thrilling 6-6 battle. Pep Guardiola’s addition of John Stones has faced heavy criticism since his arrival at Manchester City, especially with the club’s defensive issues being the cause of their downfall this season, with Claudio Bravo not giving fans much hope either.

However, Stones, who cost City £47.5m, was arguably the best player on the pitch wearing sky blue last night, and Pep Guardiola has made that perfectly clear.
Speaking after the game, Guardiola revealed:
“You cannot imagine. It is one of the happiest days of my career as a manager. I am so proud. After the Champions League, the last few days at training people were so, so sad, people don’t talk too much.”
“When you approach one game after 10 games winning, it’s nothing special. But you have to consider the situation we played this game, how we played against them, a top team.”
On John Stones, Guardiola revealed his love for the 22-year-old:
“John Stones has more personality than everyone here in this room. More balls. Under pressure. I love him. It is not easy to play as a central defender with this manager.”
