Manchester City News

Tottenham faced Manchester City in an International Champions Cup friendly fixture last night with Pep Guardiola’s side running away as winners by three goals to nil. Although, Gabriel Jesus’s first-half effort became a talking point, mainly for opposing fans, as the Brazilian produced a shocker of a miss from point-blank range.

Goals from John Stones, Raheem Sterling and Brahim Díaz completed the rout as Manchester City made it seven goals in their last two games after putting four past Real Madrid earlier in the week.

Despite their exciting pre-season form, Benjamin Mendy and Bernardo Silva are still yet to make an appearance for City, leaving City fans with plenty to look forward to when the Premier League begins in twelve days. However, they’ll be hoping Gabriel Jesus regains his shooting boots upon the arrival of the new season.

The Brazilian may have produced the worst miss of the season already after Kevin De Bruyne provided the 20-year-old with a chance on goal before his effort flew towards the corner flag from 6-yards out. Despite being considered as one of the most promising youngsters in world football, last night shows even the best can have a slip of concentration. The video of the miss can be found below:

Let’s hope he starts putting it into the net before this season’s campaign begins.
