Pep Guardiola has vowed to improve in his time to come at Manchester City, claiming that his debut season in England has been a massive lesson for him.
Defeat at Stamford Bridge left Guardiola’s side in fourth place while effectively ending any slim hopes of a title tussle with leaders Chelsea.
The Manchester City boss revealed: “In future, I will be better – definitely. This season has been a massive lesson for me.”
“We have a lot of beautiful things to fight for and to qualify for the Champions League will be a huge success. But we have to be honest with ourselves. We were not good enough to compete for the Premier League [title].”
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager has never failed to land a trophy in his time as a manager so far, and will now look to the FA Cup as City’s most realistic chance for any silverware this season.
