City Hoping To Sign Barcelona Goalkeeper

Manchester City are in talks to sign Barcelona keeper Marc Andre Ter Stegen. The 23 year old keeper has had to play second fiddle to Claudio Bravo for much of his Barcelona career. As a result City and Liverpool are both rumoured to have put in bids for the youngster.
It is believed that Marc will choose City over Liverpool due to incoming manager Pep Guardiola and the fee is rumoured to be just over £20 million. He will come as some welcome cover and competition for England international Joe Hart for the number one spot, with Joe occasionally susceptible to the odd error in high pressured situations, it will provide a fascinating contest for City fans and neutrals alike.
Ter Stegen has apparently grown tired of coach Luis Enrique due to only being used in the Champions League and Copa Del Rey competitions.
“The coach decides the way he decides, I guess he has his reasons to do so. But we will see how this goes on in the future.”
This decision from Ter Stegen leaves Liverpool in limbo with Simon Mignolet clearly not up to a title challenge come next season with his error strewn performances under Jurgen Klopp and Brendan Rodgers alike.
On the other hand, Guardiola will be chuffed with the signing of such a technically gifted keeper, considering Marc’s ability to pass the ball combined with the complex possession based system Guardiola intends to play at City.
This signing along with the supposed agreement for Ilkay Gundogan is welcome news for City fans, which may cushion the disappointment of a potentially trophyless season along with the loss of Yaya Toure.
