Liverpool Eyeing Up Move For £20 Million Swedish International

The Mirror are reporting that Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp is preparing to make a move for Bundesliga star Emil Forsberg, after losing hope on signing “wonder-kid” Christian Pulisic.
Forsberg has starred for the Bundesliga’s surprise team RB Leipzig, who currently sit in 2nd place in the German Bundesliga. The Swedish international has 5 goals and 9 assists in 15 league appearances, and despite signing in 2015 for a modest £3 million, the German club would expect a hefty fee from the Merseyside club.
Forsberg is a versatile attacking midfielder and can play in a range of attacking positions, which would fit Liverpool’s interchangeable front line perfectly. Despite only recently becoming a standout player, Klopp has reportedly been monitoring his career since Emil was playing at Malmo back in Sweden. Liverpool will be looking to bolster their squad as they look to chase down runaway league leaders Chelsea.
Although Forsberg would fit the bill, Klopp will be disappointed on missing out on Dortmund starlet Pulisic who would have been top of Klopp’s transfer shopping list.
The highly rated American is contracted to Dortmund until 2019, and Dortmund’s Sporting Director, Michael Zorc, has declared that Liverpool (among other clubs) ‘shouldn’t waste their time’ attempting to sign him.
Liverpool reportedly had a bid of £11 million turned down for Pulisic in the summer, and this change in target could see the end of Klopp’s interest in Pulisic.
