Liverpool News Transfer Rumours

Liverpool are close to signing Roma forward Mohamed Salah, with the winger’s agent currently in England for talks with the club, according to Gazzetto dello Sport. It is reported that Roma are demanding a fee in the region of £30m for the Egyptian whose contract expires in 2019.

The former Chelsea man only managed to make 19 appearances for the Blues, scoring twice including the final strike in their 6-0 demolition of Arsenal.

The winger joined Fiorentina on loan in  January 2015 and sparked controversy when he elected to sign for Roma on loan the following season, despite Fiorentina agreeing on an initial 18-month loan.

After a successful first season in the Italian capital, he was named their player of the season partly thanks to his 15 goals and 6 assists during the 15-16 season. He made the move permanent for a reported £12.75m fee and has proved a bargain with 19 goals and 15 assists in 41 games across all competitions this season.

The winger would be a fine addition to Liverpool’s attack which already boasts Sadio Mané, Phillipe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino but with Coutinho reportedly set for a deeper role in Liverpool’s midfield next season, the Egyptian could fit nicely into the Anfield side.
