Sakho’s time at Liverpool coming to an end?

With his quirky hairstyles and passionate displays at the heart of Liverpool’s defence, Mamadou Sakho seems to be a favourite amongst the club’s fans. However recent events surrounding the Frenchman has left many questioning his future at the club under Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp’s stamped his authority quickly at the club during his first summer transfer window, making and selling various personnel. Liverpool have already sold defenders Kolo Toure (to Celtic) and Martin Skrtel (to Fenerbahce). A few more big name leavers include Joe Allen, who impressed at the Euros, moving to fellow Premier League side Stoke, whilst highly rated teenager Jordon Ibe has completed a move to Bournemouth. Klopp has bought in some defensive cover in the form of Joel Matip from Schalke and Ragnar Klavan from FC Augsburg, both centre backs. These two defensive signings have been to balance out the departures of Toure and Skrtel, but may allow Klopp to move Sakho on as well.
The reason why Sakho’s future lays in the balance started back in April, when it was announced that the World Anti-Doping Agency were investigating him over a doping allegation. After testing positive for a fat burner, Sakho was given a 30 day suspension from all European football meaning, he missed Liverpool’s Europa League final against Sevilla. Although the case was later dropped in early July as the substance was found to be not in the banned list, it’s impact was profound. France manager Didier Deschamps chose not to pick Sakho in his 23 man squad for the Euros, which would have taken a mental toll on the 26 year old.
So with Sakho not having played for Klopp since April 20, his relationship with the German seems to have become fractious. In the club’s US tour in San Francisco, Sakho interrupted an interview Klopp was taking part in to ask, “How long do you think you can live here?”, to which Klopp responded, “I don’t have to think about that – you should. Only one of us turned up late for departure from Liverpool. It was you.” This quarrel left many bemused as the ex Borussia Dortmund man, who is known to be a usually chirpy coach, responded in such an uptight manner. Later developments answered those confused as Sakho was sent back to Liverpool. Although it is said that Sakho is now receiving treatment for an achilles injury, many are seeing Sakho’s departure from the club’s tour as a punishment by Klopp, whilst other are hinting it’s so that the club can talk to him about leaving the club.
The Liverpool ECHO backs up the strained relationship between the pair with the newspaper stating it
“understands that concerns had been raised about the 26-year-old’s attitude around the club’s training camp in California and that’s prompted his swift return to the UK.
So where does this leave the Frenchmen who arrived for £18 million from PSG and made 55 appearances to date for the Reds? Even if Klopp does keep hold of him, will he start ahead of either Matip or Dejan Lovren, who established himself in Liverpool’s run to the Europa Final last year. From what it seems the pair have fallen out big time, which may see Sakho leaving the club or becoming a permanent role on the bench for this upcoming season.
