Jürgen Klopp has been in charge of Liverpool since October 2015 and is approaching the end of his first full season in charge of the club, which overall, has been a success so far and going into the last game of the season they still have a chance of finishing in the top four.

When Klopp took charge of Liverpool, Liverpool fans were excited for the future after the success he had in Germany with Borussia Dortmund. Many fans believed, and still believe, that he is the man to guide the club back to the top of English football.

Klopp has taken charge of 85 games in his time at Liverpool, with his current record standing at 42 wins 25 draws and 18 losses so far. Not a bad start for the German who has a current win percentage of 49.41%. This season Liverpool’s current record in the league is 21 win 10 draws and 6 losses with one game remaining in the league which if they win, they guarantee a top 4 finish. However, is they were to draw or lose they would need results elsewhere to go their way.

Have Liverpool improved under Klopp since Brendan Rodgers’ full last season in charge of the club? In my opinion, I think they have improved. The football that Liverpool have been playing under Klopp not just over this season but over the months he had during the 2015-2016 season has, at times, been incredible. That’s mostly because of the way Klopp likes his teams to play on the front foot, pressing the ball high when possible but along with just working hard, they work smart and know when to press, and when to conserve their energy. This is partly down to Klopp putting his tactics in place but credit needs to be given to the players for putting those tactics into practice and overall succeeding using them.

Brendan Rodgers last full season in charge of Liverpool was the 2014-2015 season. Liverpool finished 6th in that season, winning 18, drawing 8 and losing 12 which most Liverpool fans would deem as a disappointment. Comparing that to the stats from this season. With 1 game left to play, Liverpool sit in fourth with 21 wins, 10 draws and 6 losses. The stats show that Liverpool have improved under Jürgen Klopp since he replaced Brendan Rodgers. Not forgetting the fact that Rodgers did guide Liverpool to a 2nd place finish.

Jürgen Klopp has improved Liverpool, without a doubt. Klopp is not only a great addition to Liverpool Football Club but a great credit to the Premier League. Not only due to his eccentric personally, lighting up the weekend’s press conferences, but also the exciting football he brings, as well as his touchline antics.

The German has now had his first full season in English football’s top-flight, and without Europe, Liverpool have battled it out for a Champions League qualification spot. However, Klopp will have to break his usual bargain hunting, and break the bank in order to compete in all four competitions Liverpool will feature in next season, be it Champions League, or Europa League.
