Leicester City captain Wes Morgan has signed a new three-year deal with the current Premier League champions, keeping him at the King Power Stadium until 2019. The English-born, Jamaican international is the latest player to commit his future to last year’s surprise package after the club has rewarded several stars with new improved contracts.
“Lifting that Premier League was a moment I will never forget and it’s still sinking in. Now we’ve got to give it everything to defend it as well as showing what we can do in the Champions League.”
“We all know that what we’ve got in that dressing room is something special, so I can’t wait to get the new season started with the boys so we can once again give it our best for each other and for our fantastic supporters.”
“Everyone knows how I feel about playing for this Club and with my teammates, so I’m proud to have the chance to carry on wearing the shirt long term.”
“To commit my future to Leicester City is a wonderful feeling,”
The news breaks following the recent news of N’Golo Kante confirming his move to Premier League rivals Chelsea, while rumours are starting to pick up that highly rated Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez is also on the verge of moving club with a number of European clubs interested.
