1) Has being in the FA Cup affected our season?

After our quarterfinals win, we’ve had a pretty rough time trying to get back into good form in the league. It’s interesting that Everton, along with us, have not won a game since getting through to the semi’s, and Palace have only won once. I think this could partly be down to the cup because of course it will be difficult for the players to keep their minds away from the fact that they will be playing at Wembley and stay focused on the league. But of course, this is only a negative effect on our season, if we bottle under the pressure at Wembley and don’t go on to the final!

2) Have Watford used up their ‘magic’ against Arsenal?

No, I don’t think we’ve used up our magic. In fact, I think what happened at Arsenal will make the team much more positive and optimistic about being able to beat Crystal Palace. I hope that something magic can happen at Wembley; surely we can’t manage to knock Arsenal out of the cup and then go and lose to Palace can we? We’ll have to see what happens!

3) Is it revenge for the Playoff final? Or is it just a semi-final?

It might be a bit of revenge, but we don’t want a win just for revenge, we want a win because we deserve the chance at a trophy! Palace outplayed us in that Playoff final, so hopefully this time we can be the ones who come out on top.

4) Crystal Palace’s main threats?

I can’t say I have watched a lot of Crystal Palace this season; I think we should look out for Zaha who is having a good season despite their recent results, and Bolasie who will be confident after his strike at the Emirates on the weekend.

5) The line-up you would like to see face Crystal Palace?

Controversially, I want Gomes in goal. I’d then like Ake, Cathcart, Britos and Nyom at the back. Then Guedioura, Capoue, Watson and Anya/Jurado in Midfield. Then Deeney and Ighalo up front.

6) Finally, can Watford go all the way and win the cup?

Most definitely. We are capable of beating all three teams left in the competition, on a good day. We’ve had some decent cup runs in the past, but never been the winners. As the saying goes, ‘Our time is now’!

1) Has being in the FA Cup affected our season?

Being in the FA Cup effects any team’s season. Being in it can mean a choice between trophies for big teams in the league, or it can mean going for your only chance of a trophy, like Arsenal for example. Back in December, we were looking like we had survival in the bag, and some people were glancing at their passports, just in case the Europa league came knocking. Due to a conflict of interests, our attention has evidently turned to the cup since January, meaning that form has declined, but it might just have picked up at the right point. Sacrificing league results has also meant that we can perform better in the cup as well, of which I can’t complain.

2) Have Watford used up there ‘magic’ against Arsenal?

I wouldn’t call it magic, just the most disgustingly fluky cup run ever. Back in the 3rd round we went through due to a Wijnaldum back pass, then a sliced clearance, and then it was an own goal, and then at Arsenal, they missed open chances left right and centre. “Wide, impossibly wide” being the words of choice from John Motson after a truly poor Welbeck miss. We just need to play well, and not do what we did last time at Wembley. Then we should be fine.

3) Is it revenge for the Playoff final? Or is it just a semi-final?

On paper, it may have looked like revenge, put it realistically, and it’s a semi-final. Be used to that loss we regrouped as a club, and evaluated and we finished 13th in the league. I can’t imagine what would have happened if we went up. It’s only because of that loss that we are where we are today.

4) Crystal Palace’s main threats?

For me, Cabaye and Puncheon are their biggest threats every weekend. However, Zaha only ever performs against Watford. Bolasie and Souare can either be quality or non-existent. Same with Adebayor. Scott Dann will be a rock at the back as well.

5) The line-up you would like to see face Crystal Palace?

Pantilimon

Nyom- Cathcart- Proedl-Holebas

Guedioura- Watson-Capoue-Anya

Deeney-Ighalo.

6) Finally, can Watford go all the way and win the cup?

We are the underdogs, and we tend to thrive with that label. In a way, I think that the final will be an easier watch than the semi-final if we make it. Sunday is too close to call for me. We have done well against the other 3, so I wouldn’t rule us out.

1) Has being in the FA Cup affected our season?

I do believe the FA Cup run has had an intact in our form. It’s a shame that we have slumped in the league however, those league games have had many moments that have gone against the hornets. Everyone loves a cup run, obviously, the longer it goes on the better, however, it’s been detrimental to our form in the league. Thankfully, we’ve managed to scrape by.

2) Have Watford used up there ‘magic’ against Arsenal?

Ahhhh, the magic of the FA Cup, emphasised perfectly from Adeline’s thunderbolt of a shot. It sent a chill down my spine, however with the following trip to Holloway, we found a performance lacking any effort. All focus has gone on the cup, so we’ve witnessed very little magic except our Brazilian legend (Gomes).

3) Is it revenge for the Playoff final? Or is it just a semi-final?

We can all brand this revenge, I like Crystal Palace; I found their humour was brilliant, prior that woeful day. We’ve managed to form the 1881 simply with their passion. When it comes to Sunday, it’s just a semi-final. Not revenge. If Watford were promoted that season, I doubt we would’ve been prepared adequately to survive. That day did us the world of good.

4) Crystal Palace’s main threats?

Well, I think everybody knows the main threats this weekend. Zaha seems to love to win a penalty and well, Watford have thought it’s fashionable to concede 2 penalties a game, comparable to Sunday league football. That Zaha penalty at Wembley was stone cold but my word, it was a slow-motion nightmare. On the other wing, you’ll have Yannick. A fantastic player who we’d all want in our squad (which lacks pace like we lack goal scorers). those two will be the difference.

5) The line-up you would like to see face Crystal Palace?

Thankfully I’ve looked at team presented to us at West Ham, so going by who was rested, the starting 11 will look like:

Pantilimon

Nyom – Cathcart – Britos – Ake

Behrami – Watson – Capoue – Jurado

Ighalo – Deeney

It’s a squad who feature no goals print threat from midfield, but on their day a hard working unit. No flair players, but hopefully a day Capoue opens his account. Berghuis did himself no harm v West Ham. Why on earth isn’t featured as much is utterly baffling.

6) Finally, can Watford go all the way and win the cup?

I am a strong believer that Wembley should only host finals, it’s like a giant anti-climax winning there, and then you’ve still not won a trophy. If we can get to the final, obviously anything is possible as one of our current players knows in Watson, who scored the winning goal v Man City for Wigan. Fairy tales do happen. To be honest, we are the club who ended Arsenal’s season whilst surviving in the Premier League. I’d say we’ve already achieved what we wanted this season.
