Sign Him Up: Zach Clough

In a season to forget for Bolton, there has been one shining light; Zach Clough. The 21 year old attacking midfielder has supplied some fantastic quality and given ‘Trotters’ fans something to smile about at least.
Scoring 7 times in 28 league games last season, Clough finished as Bolton’s top scorer, despite missing 1/3 of the season due to a shoulder injury.
Clough successfully worked his way through the ranks in order to quickly become a huge fan favourite; choosing to join Bolton over Manchester United at the age of 8 and signing his first professional contract in 2013. He made his debut against Wigan Athletic in January 2015, chipping the ball over Ali Al-Habsi to score the only goal in a 1-0 win.
Confidence is no issue for the impressive prospect; his natural ability paired with his great awareness makes Clough an extremely intelligent player. He is dangerous anywhere in and around the penalty area and can produce a piece of magic at any given moment. Along with his superb capabilities from a dead ball situation; this lad would be a fantastic asset for any Championship club and a fair few Premier League clubs too.
Zach Clough was very quick to turn down a move to Bristol City in January, a bid believed to be around £2 million. It would seem that the young playmaker has his ambitions set a little higher than lower-mid table in the Championship.
Taking into account Bolton’s current position, financially and in the football league, it would look as if a move may well be on the cards for the promising English prospect. However, it could cost a club around £3 million in order to prise Bolton’s gifted talent away from the Macron Stadium.
