N’Golo Kante On The Move?

It’s not surprising that many of the Leicester City’s 2015/16 Premier League-winning squad would be linked to moves away during this busy transfer window. First of all Jamie Vardy was London bound with interest from West Ham, with an official approach from Arsenal being rejected by the player, only to go and repay the club that showed faith in him by signing a new long-term deal with Leicester City.
It’s now being reported Chelsea’s new boss Antonio Conte is eyeing up a move for Leicester’s main workhorse in the centre of the pitch, N’Golo Kante. The French international was without a doubt one of the signings of the season last term, and one of the top performers across all midfielders in the league, playing a pivotal part of Leicester City’s shock Premier League title win. Kante has also been linked with a move to the Chinese Super League, but the 25-year old would prefer to remain in England playing Premier League football.
N’Golo Kante featured in 37 of Leicester City’s 38 Premier League games last season, scoring one goal and registering 4 assists along the way too. Averaging 4.7 tackles per game with an average of 4.2 interceptions per game too, Chelsea boss Conte would be hoping to get a similar input to his new squad should he be signed.
Now with Euro 2016 finished and out the way, and helping France reach the final on home soil, Kante will be looking to sort out where he is playing his football next term. It’s been reported N’Golo has a £20m release clause in his current contract, and that could be triggered by Conte in the coming days.
